A PROJECT to knit items for those who need them is underway with the Chirk Castle National Trust.

The blanket project is back for 2022, with knitted squares being urged to be dropped off at the castle or its fellow National Trust venue at Erddig.

A spokesman for the project thanked anyone who might want to get involved in helping them support a Wrexham charity ahead of Christmas 2022.

They said: "Hooray, our blanket project is back for 2022 so knitting needles and crochet hooks at the ready, we need you.

"It's always humbling to see how many people are happy to help us provide a little blanket cwtch from us all to families supported by Home-Start Wrexham in time for Christmas.

"What we need is squares that are 15cm x 15cm in double knit (DK) or aran yarn. Both knitted and crochet squares are welcome.

"These squares can be in any colour and have any design, though some pastels this year would be lovely so we can make baby blankets

"Drop completed squares in to us here at Erddig or at Chirk Castle Ticket Office up to the end of November so we can make them up in time for Christmas.

"If you can't make it to us then you can also post any squares to us at VCI Team, Blanket Project, Erddig, Wrexham, LL13 0YT.

"Pram blankets are also very welcome if anyone would like to make a blanket as a whole project to keep little legs warm on adventure.

"Thank you so much in advance for anyone who can spare a little time and wool to this fantastic campaign."
