BICYCLE enthusiasts are being invited to Flintshire to take to the tracks and celebrate all things bikes next month.

Greenfield Valley Museum Heritage Park is hosting a 'Bonansa Beics/Bike Bonanza' on Saturday, February 19.

Between the hours of 11am and 3pm, guests are invited to come along and enjoy all things bikes as they ride the bumps and bridges of the Shore Trax (wooden pump track).

They can also complete the self-led trail on the active travel route and so much more throughout the day while the event is on.

Guests don't even need to bring their own bike on the day, as some will be provided for them.

The event is supported and funded by Welsh Government, The Federation of Welsh Museums and Galleries and Amgueddfa Cymru.

A statement from the Greenfield Valley team read: "Come along test your skills ride the bumps and the bridges of the Shore Trax. This wooden pump track is loads of fun, and don’t worry if you haven’t got your own bike we have some you can use!

"This event will also include a trail that follows the bike as an invention, how it was used as a mode of transport and deliver goods and services, its transformation and iconic modern designs and its use as a leisure activity."

Greenfield Valley Heritage Park has recently had a major refit and been transformed into a destination for historical education and events.

If there isn't an event planned there will be something else to see plus the animals always like to see a friendly face too.

The site can be found by following the A545 to Greenfield where this is free coach and car parking. From the A55 leave at Holywell exit and follow the B5121 where there is also free car parking.
