THE third episode in the Welsh Business Heroes series will be co-hosted by Newsquest this Thursday (January 20) at 12pm on Eventbrite.

Hosted by NatWest, Landsker Business Solutions and Newsquest, the online events aim to inspire, educate and encourage people to create and grow their own successful business.

A monthly affair, this week’s hour-long event will feature Ellen Wakelam, co-founder and director of In the Welsh Wind Distillery.

Ms Wakelam will correspond with Landsker managing director Jeremy Bowen Rees about the business she formed with her partner Alex Jungmayr.

Hailing from Cardigan, Ms Wakelam was the winner of the NatWest Everywoman Demeter Award 2021, given to the most inspirational woman in the UK running a business trading between three and five years.

Since opening their distillery in January 2018, the couple have gone on to claim numerous awards.

Julia Perry, NatWest local enterprise manager for Wales, said: “Like so many other Welsh women entrepreneurs, Ellen is a real inspiration.

“She’s lived the highs and lows of running a business giving her invaluable experience that those looking to start a business can learn from.”

Aspiring businesspeople interested in attending the online talk may register for free at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/welsh-business-heroes-tickets.
