Nearly nine in 10 adults in Wrexham have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.

Public Health Wales data shows 94,015 people aged 18 and over have been given both doses of a vaccine up to January 9 – 85% of the area's adults.

They make up part of the 97,367 people who have been given at least one jab – 88% of the over-18 population.

Figures also show 2,358 16 and 17-year-olds in Wrexham (76% of the age group) and 4,450 12 to 15-year-olds (58%) had received a first dose by then.

The data for each age group in the area shows:

16 to 17 – 1,615 fully vaccinated (52%)

18 to 29 – 13,697 fully vaccinated (72%)

30 to 39 – 14,043 fully vaccinated (74%)

40 to 49 – 14,949 fully vaccinated (83%)

50 to 54 – 9,412 fully vaccinated (90%)

55 to 59 – 8,959 fully vaccinated (91%)

60 to 64 – 7,697 fully vaccinated (93%)

65 to 69 – 6,994 fully vaccinated (95%)

70 to 74 – 7,106 fully vaccinated (96%)

75 to 79 – 5,102 fully vaccinated (97%)

80 and over – 6,056 fully vaccinated (97%)
