FLINT'S Golden Girl Jade Jones has set herself a mission to graft in 2022.

Over the festive period, Jade shared photos of herself enjoying spending time with her family, including her grandmother, and partner Jordan Gayle.

But in one of her first posts on 2022, she implied it was time to get back into training.

The taekwondo gold medalist, dubbed the Headhunter for her scoring kicks, said: "Pretending to be an adult with my glass of wine...but now its time to get back to the GRAFT."

2021 was a busy year for Jade as she started training for what will be her final Olympics in Paris in 2024 where she hopes to win gold for a third time.

She came home to Flint after competing in the delayed 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, finding time to visit pupils at her former school Ysgol Gwynedd to read them her own story.

Jade also attended high profile sporting events in 2022, such as an Anthony Joshua fight.

On Instagram she posted: "Ive made so many special memories, lots of adventures, amazing opportunities and most importantly my family and friends are healthy and happy.

"So still I thank you 2021! But I cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store. Lets get it!"

2022 will also see Jade's scholarship to find the next generation of Welsh Olympians come to fruition.

The Jade Jones Scholarship, in partnership with Under Armour, will give two female athletes from Wales the opportunity to receive financial funding and as well as hands-on help Jade to learn what it takes to be an Olympic and World champion.

This week, Jade posted: "Applications have now closed for my scholarship program and I’m blown away by the quality and character of the young women that have applied. Thank you so much, we’ll be in touch with all of you over the next two weeks.

"You’ve inspired me to deliver my best in ‘22."

It is also rumoured that Jade travelled to the Middle East in 2021 to take part in Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins, which is due to be broadcast in 2022.
