TOP-SIX was the target ahead of the season and that remains the goal for Flint Town United in the Cymru Premier League.

Although the Silkmen are flying high in second spot in the standings, things remain tight as the key mid-season split fast approaches.

Flint are just six points clear of seventh-placed Caernarfon Town and full back Jake Phillips says the side will re-evaluate its target once the top-six spot is achieved.

"Before the start of the season we targeted top-six and that remains the same," said Phillips.

"Obviously, we have situated ourselves into a strong position but we must maintain our standards to ensure we complete that target.

"Once that is achieved, we can re-assess and aim to finish as high as possible."

After a break away from action, home comforts will welcome Flint back to their league programme with Haverfordwest County their visitors tomorrow afternoon.

"This weekend we face Haverfordwest and we haven’t forgotten our disappointing performance and result away their earlier in the season," added Phillips.

"This is something we are hoping to change this weekend, however we know it will be a tough game as they will believe they can beat us again.

"Training this week has been good and we have a game plan on how we can affect them both in and out of possession, therefore we are confident if we carry out what is required we can get a positive result."

Haverfordwest find themselves down in 10th spot in the table but it's still all to play for as a key December begins.

Ahead of the weekend, County are just five points adrift of sixth-placed Connah's Quay Nomads.

As for his personal displays so far this campaign, Phillips is pleased with the way things are going.

"From a personal perspective this season I can’t complain at all so far," he added.

"I am really enjoying my time both on and off the field.

"I have had a regular run of fixtures and been given belief from the manager and staff and I am looking forward for the remainder of the season."
