A FLINTSHIRE book shop business has been "overwhelmed" by the support of the public after it "lost everything" in a fire.

Berwyn Books' premises on Spender Industrial Estate in Buckley suffered a devastating blaze earlier this month - with an estimated 400,000 books being lost.

In the immediate aftermath, the local community rallied to support the business - with a fundraising page set up and numerous offers of book donations.

And Berwyn Books now says there are "plans in place to move forward" as a result of the support it's received.

Thousands of books, filling two shipping containers, have been donated - and more are coming in all the time.

The business said: "The support we have received has been absolutely incredible. It's

"We have plans in place to move forward. It's very exciting but we're still taking it day by day."

Berwyn Books is holding a Christmas book fair Saturday, December 11 at Northop Hall Cricket Club.

It will run between 10am and 4pm and will include a meet and greet with best-selling author, Clare Mackintosh, as well as bargain books on sale, music and refreshments.
