A MAN has today admitted the manslaughter of a grandfather at a house in Wrexham.

Karl Saffy, 57, was taken to hospital from the property in Cristionydd, Penycae, but died.

Luke Williams, 24, of Trem y Gardden, Penycae, appeared on a video link from custody at Mold crown court, accused of killing Mr Saffy.

Judge Rhys Rowlands remanded him in custody until sentencing on January 7. He said there would be an “inevitable” prison sentence but his guilty plea was important.

Mr Saffy, of Stanley Grove, Ruabon, died on August 23 at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

A Home Office pathologist found he had vertebral artery trauma.
