A CAERGWRLE firm's walk in memory of a former colleague who died has collected more than £2,000 for a hospice.

The Quality Education with Care (QEwC) Ltd team took on a walk up Snowdon on October 30 in memory of one of their colleagues, Wayne Phillips.

By doing so, they collected £2,047 for the Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham.

A spokesperson for QEwC, based at Bryn Tirion Hall, said: "Congratulations to our staff who successfully completed their walk up Snowdon yesterday in memory of Wayne. A special thanks to Tracy who organised the event, Nicky, Wardy and Chris for supplying hot food, drinks and Wardy for being a knight in shining armour.

"Wayne loved the outdoors and being active and would often be seen scaling the local mountains, which is why we have chosen Snowdon. Wayne is sadly missed by all of the staff and young people at QEWC where he worked, to enrich the lives of others.

"Nightingale House supported Wayne and his family through his illness and continue to do so to this day, which is why they were the chosen charity for this walk. Any donations will be greatly received and appreciated.
