RYAN Reynolds and Rob McElhenney watched their first match at The Racecourseon Saturday

It might not have been the result that the new owners and fans wanted to see - but the Hollywood duo got to hear The Racecourse rock when Wrexham scored the opening goal.

Before the match, Ryan and Rob laid a wreath at the ground as this was the closest home game to Remembrance Sunday.

They also officially open the revamped WREXRENT Stand, in front of the new accessible viewing platform from which they watched the game.

We spoke to expectant fans outside the ground before kick-off.

There was a real mix of excitement and nerves.

Excitement for the future of the club with a future that looks secure under the stewardship of Ryan and Rob.

But also nerves as results haven't suggested this will be Wrexham's year for promotion - although there is still hope.

There were lots of young fans - some there for the first time while others are already season ticket holders.

For them the future is looking sunny for Wrexham.

Unfortunately, they didn't get the three points they wanted.

Maybe next time and thanks for giving everyone in Wrexham such a thrill over the past few days.

You have done the town proud and we all can't wait to see you again
