VETERINARY centres in North Wales are being targeted by potential burglars, North Wales Police say.
Officers suspect that vets across the region and across the border are being targeted for controlled drugs.
A community alert posted by North Wales Police read: "Please be vigilant at this time, ensure alarms are activated at night, and there are no obstructions to your PIR sensors, reduce accidental activations by ensuring windows and doors are secured, ensure your keyholder list is up to date.
"Take extra precautions if you have lone workers at these premises (although no manned clinics have been targeted) or are a keyholder attending to an alarm call, we advise where possible go with someone else, ensure phones are fully charged and if anything suspicious is seen on arrival call the police and do not enter the premises.
"You may wish to inform your alarm company of this trend and ensure they report activations to the police immediately.
"Don't make it easy, reduce the payoff, be vigilant and report any suspicious activity by calling 101."
