SMOKE alarms came to the rescue to save a Flintshire resident over the weekend.
According to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS), the occupier of a Buckley address was lucky their smoke alarm made them aware of flames in their property on Sunday, October 24.
The fire had been caused by a chip pan which had been accidentally left on the heat.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "Leaving a chip pan unattended for any length of time can have disastrous results – this fire was caused after a chip pan was accidentally left on the heat in Buckley yesterday.
"Luckily there were smoke alarms installed in the property and alerted the occupier of the fire."
