A FLINTSHIRE resident says incorrect signage on the Cul de Sac he lives on has led to him waiting a few days longer for parcels to be delivered to his house.

Phil Newell, who lives on Atis Cross in Flint, says the accidental change in name to 'Atis Croft' on the sign has led to him missing out on deliveries due to drivers getting confused.

He also claims that the council has come back twice to, firstly install and then later fix the sign, only for it to be left as it was the second time.

He said: "The council has incorrectly placed a new sign on our Cul de Sac which is totally wrong.

"This may seem a genuine mistake but they have done the same thing twice. Our mail/deliveries are not being delivered properly because the council have named the area wrong."

The sign, put up around a month-an-a-half ago by the council is now set to be corrected 'straight away'.

Flintshire’s Chief Office for Streetscene and Transportation, Katie Wilby, said: "We wish to thank the resident for bringing this matter to our attention. We can confirm that the sign should read Atis Cross and the mistake is easy to rectify and will be corrected straight away."

Upon being told this, Phil added: "That's brilliant news. I've had some real difficulty getting through to the council myself. The fact that they got it wrong twice shows how poor communication can be between certain departments of the council.

"I've missed out on deliveries as drivers don't know where the street is, meaning I've had to wait a few days longer for parcels at times. It's been an inconvenience from my point of view."
