More than four in five adults in Wrexham have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.

Public Health Wales data shows 92,025 people aged 18 and over have been given both doses of a vaccine up to October 17 – 84% of the area's adults.

They make up part of the 96,021 people who have been given at least one jab – 87% of the over-18 population.

Figures also show 2,146 16 and 17-year-olds in Wrexham (70% of the age group) and 1,375 12 to 15-year-olds (19%) had received a first dose by then.

The data on second doses for each age group in the area shows:

  • 16 to 17 – 690 administered (22%)
  • 18 to 29 – 12,859 administered (69%)
  • 30 to 39 – 13,496 administered (72%)
  • 40 to 49 – 14,574 administered (82%)
  • 50 to 54 – 9,300 administered (89%)
  • 55 to 59 – 8,842 administered (91%)
  • 60 to 64 – 7,608 administered (93%)
  • 65 to 69 – 6,948 administered (95%)
  • 70 to 74 – 7,107 administered (96%)
  • 75 to 79 – 5,131 administered (97%)
  • 80 and over – 6,160 administered (96%)

Across Wales, 2.2 million people have had both doses, 86% of the over-16 population, and 2.4 million (93%) have had at least one dose.

The rates have been updated using recently released 2020 mid-year population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
