A NEW women's only gym is opening its doors in Flintshire.

Kat Jones, from Hawarden, has realised her dream of getting her own facility which will be opening its doors in Buckley town centre in the coming months.

The 37-year-old's Aspire to Inspire mobile fitness company launched in March 2020, and despite the Covid lockdowns, has quickly gone from strength to strength.

Kat said: "It has always been a dream of mine to open up and run my own gym designed for women.

"Giving them a safe and comfortable environment so they can feel relaxed and succeed at there goals without the pressures of a normal gym.

"Many women I have spoken to feel put off by going to gyms which are open to both sexes.

"I enjoy training mums that have a busy lifestyle, and working out fitness plans that can revolve around their day. This can ensure workouts can be included in every aspect of the day from taking the kids to school to doing the weekly shop.

"I have already had 150 enquiries from local women about when it'll open - I think it'll be a real success."

But Kat's dream hasn't been achieved overnight, it's taken 18 months of extremely hard work and sacrifice.

"During the lockdown I got a job in Tesco so I could keep saving up, and then when the restrictions relaxed I ran as many fitness classes as I possibly could.

"It's been so tough, but I never gave up and would like to thank everyone who's shown me love and support - I wouldn't have been able to do it without you."

The gym is currently being kitted out, and Kat hopes it'll be open to the public in December.

She is also hoping that a form of mental health support service will run there as well.

"We all know how important an issue is now, and I'd love there to be something there for our members.

"It can be difficult to seek help, so something in place at Aspire to Inspire would be brilliant."
