A WREXHAM farm shop and garden centre has one of the best pumpkin patches in Wales.

Autumn is nearly here and what better way to celebrate than visiting a pumpkin patch. In fact, the online search term ‘pumpkin patch’ saw an increase of 90.5% on Google Trends last week. But which one is best for the ‘gram?

In order to find out the most Instagrammable UK pumpkin patches, DIYS.com compiled a list of the most popular locations in the UK using PumpkinPatchesAndMore.org and cross-referenced the hashtags on Instagram.

The Top Pumpkin Patches in Wales:

  • Pencoed Fach Organic Farm, Gwent
  • Forage Farm, South Glamorgan
  • Gower Fresh Christmas Trees, West Glamorgan
  • Clearwell Farm, Gwent
  • Bellis Country Market, Wrexham

This year, Bellis Brothers have a Pick Your Own Pumpkins and Spooky Maize Maze.

The Bellis website says: "Our pumpkin field is on our family run farm and all pumpkins are grown onsite. We have a Spooky Maize Maze for you to explore and Nightingale House Hospice will be joining us each weekend with fundraising activities for children."

Meanwhile, Stefan Gheorghe, DIYS.com spokesperson, has shared six creative ideas for after you’ve picked your pumpkins

The are:

  • The most popular activity for pumpkins is, of course, Halloween decorations in the form of a Jack-o'-lantern. Try a different spin with tips from our blog like DIY glitter and 3D snail Jack-o'-lanterns!
  • Use leftover produce for popular seasonal dishes such as pumpkin soup, purée and pie
  • According to Brewsmartly.com and The Spice Kitchen, creating the perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte only requires your leftover pumpkin purée and ingredients from your kitchen
  • Turn your mini pumpkins into candle holders! Cut off the top of the pumpkin and scoop out most of the seeds and flesh from the inside to fit the candle. Rub Vaseline on the exposed parts to preserve the pumpkin for longer and then insert the candle and decorate
  • Why not hold your flowers in a festive manner? Paint your pumpkin to create a pretty pumpkin vase. Again, rub Vaseline on the exposed flesh for preservation
  • Pumpkins are an excellent source of calcium for birds. Cut the pumpkin in half and fill it with seeds (including cooked pumpkin seeds)
