If you grew up in Britain, chances are you've been to a castle.

Even a day at the beach can be centred around castle, albeit of the sand variety.

There are hundreds of castles in Wales, thousands across Britain, that pull in visitors from all corners of the world.

And it's these giant, historic landmarks that were the focus of the most recent Leader Camera Club challenge.

Local landmarks and those further afield were shared by Camera Club members, from ruins to imposing grandeur.

DID YOU MISS? Castell Dinas Bran in the spotlight

The Leader Camera Club is a very friendly and supportive group of professional and amateur photographers to share their images, with daily galleries printed in the Wrexham and Flintshire Leader, and regular online albums.

Often the group is set topic challenges which have included monochrome, bridges and various colour-based themes.

Some special events have led to stunning galleries, such as the Snow Moon and the incredible frozen scenes earlier this year.

And of course the natural beauty of North Wales is often a great focus for members too.
