OVER a hundred new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Wrexham.

Public Health Wales figures released on Thursday (September 9) show that of the 180 new cases in Flintshire and Wrexham, 68 were in Flintshire and 112 in Wrexham.

Flintshire's seven-day infection rate stands at 390.1, while Wrexham's is at 340.5.

Across the North Wales region as a whole, 480 new cases have been confirmed.

Sadly, a further nine people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Wales in the latest 24-hour period.

As of September 5, there were 89 people being treated for coronavirus in North Wales hospitals - which makes up roughly 4 per cent of all inpatients in the region's hospitals.
