WOLVERINE actor Hugh Jackman has joked he could buy Norwich City FC as part of his ongoing "feud" with Wrexham AFC owner Ryan Reynolds.

Hugh broke the news to Wrexham fans during an interview about his new film Reminiscence this week - although it's unlikely to be a patch on Ryan's awesome summer blockbuster Free Guy!

Referring to the takeover of Wrexham AFC by Ryan and Rob McElhenney in February, the 52-year-old Australian actor told LaDbible: "I'm so sorry, Wrexham."

Then LaDbible asked if he would consider buying a club as a way to troll Deadpool star Ryan.

"I'd never considered it until that last bit of that sentence," he told the site.

"That would just be sweet."

Norwich City are in the frame as Jackman is an honorary supporter due to his mother living in the city.

The club's incumbent celebrity owner Delia Smith offered the Greatest Showman actor the chance to invest previously, it is understood, but he didn't take up the offer.

Outside of cup runs, Wrexham are unlikely to face Norwich for a few seasons yet.

Norwich have just returned to the Premier League and were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Liverpool in their opening home game.

The 52-year-old said a match between Norwich and Wrexham could be on the cards for bragging right in the A-listers' ongoing "feud".

He told LaDbible: "Let's get that game together. That'd be fun. Then maybe Ryan and I could just make it a little side wager."

"Like, everything; let's just put everything that we own and love - families, kids, everything - on the line. And let's get Norwich playing Wrexham."

Ryan, however, wasn't convinced.

He told LaDbible: "I don't think that's a wise idea. I mean, you know, Hugh has the business acumen of a slug.

"So I don't think that would go over very well."
