THERE have been more than 600 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Wales today.
The latest data from Public Health Wales reports that 608 new cases were recorded in the nation as a whole on August 4.
Of these, 174 newly reported cases were in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board region here in North Wales.
The highest number of cases was 51 in Flintshire.
There were 45 in Denbighshire, 36 in Conwy, and 32 in Wrexham.

The seven-day rolling rate of infection in Wales is now 136.3 cases per 100,000 members of the population.
In North Wales, the rate of infection is above the national average in four out of the six areas.
The infection rates by local authority are:
Denbighshire - 47.0 per 100k
Conway - 30.7
Wrexham - 23.5
Flintshire - 32.7
Gwynedd - 5.6
Anglesey - 4.3
Covid deaths
Sadly, four people have died in Wales after testing positive for coronavirus. In Wales, 5,620 people have died from covid-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
More than 2m people in Wales have now been double jabbed with a Covid vaccine.
More than 80 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Flintshire and Wrexham.
Public Health Wales figures released today (August 4) show that of the 83 new cases in the two counties, 51 were in Flintshire and 32 in Wrexham.
Wrexham and Flintshire's seven-day infection rates both remain some of the highest in Wales (196.4 and 174.2 respectively).
Across the North Wales region as a whole, 174 new cases of the virus have been confirmed.
