RYAN Reynolds has shared a hilarious spoof video to promote his new action comedy movie Free Guy.

In the video, the Wrexham AFC co-chairman, who is also an actor, appears to have a musclebound body he jokingly claims to have got in just a week.

Released in the UK next week, action comedy Free Guy sees the Canadian movie star play a self-aware video game character.

As well as starring as the titular character, Ryan also appears - thanks to Hollywood movie magic - as musclebound avatar Dude whose cool catchphrase is "Catchphrase!"

After a clip from the movie, co-starring What We Do In the Shadows co-creator and MCU director Taika Waititi, Ryan explains how he got his hench bod in just a week.

The Deadpool star says: "I do know that you hear about actors complaining about how hard their movie workouts are. And, I'll tell you that I don't have time for that. I've been at this one week. And, I gotta tell ya...it's coming in nicely."

In the parody video, which has had more than 2.4m views on Instagram, he goes on to say he starts each day with a protein bomb made entirely of human muscle.

"It's completely organic and illegal," he says.

Later in the video he appears with his iconic Deadpool costume.

Ryan's celebrity pals have commented on his new look.

Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman, with whom Reynolds has had a long running "feud" on social media, said: "You look …. better."

Comic book creator of the Deadpool character Rob Liefeld, known for the exaggerated physical proportions of his characters, said: "This looks great!"
