A five-year-old boy has died after he was found in a river in South Wales, police have said.
Officers were called at 5.45am on Saturday to a report of concern for a missing child in Sarn, Bridgend, and found his body in the Ogmore River near Pandy Park, South Wales Police said.
The boy was taken to Princess of Wales Hospital where it was confirmed that he had died, and his family is being supported by specially trained officers.
Police are investigating the incident and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at or around 5.45am on Saturday, or who may have information about how the child ended up in the water.
