POP-UP vaccination clinics will be held in Wrexham over the weekend as the vaccination drive continues.

A clinic will be held at Hightown Community Resource Centre on Saturday, July 31 from 9.30am until 2.30pm offering both first and second doses.

A clinic will also be held at Caia Park Community Partnership on Monday, August 2 from 10am until 3pm, also offering first and second doses.

No appointment is needed, people can just turn up.

The Leader previously reported that young people who are about to turn 18 are being invited to have their Covid-19 vaccine in Wales.

Following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) young adults aged from 17 years and 9 months will either be invited to a booked appointment or they can attend a walk-in vaccination clinic where available in their local health board.

Welsh Government announced that all adults who have been fully-vaccinated will no longer have to self-isolate if they are identified as close contacts of someone with coronavirus from 7 August.

Children and young people under 18 will also be exempt from the need to self-isolate if they are also identified as close contacts of a positive case.

But everyone who tests positive for coronavirus or has symptoms must continue to isolate for 10 days, whether they have been vaccinated or not.
