SUPPORTERS would like to see Wrexham appoint a manager that has enjoyed success at non-league level as Dean Keates’ successor.

The search has started for a new boss with Keates told he would not be offered a new contract after the Reds failed to clinch a play-off spot and will spend a 14th season in the fifth tier.

Accrington chief John Coleman and Newport boss Michael Flynn both won promotion to the Football League with their respective clubs while Nigel Clough, currently in charge at Mansfield, put Burton Albion on course for the title before leaving for Derby.

The trio are much fancied for the role, some fans hope former Wales managers Mark Hughes, who hails from Ruabon, and Chris Coleman get the nod while other men have been put forward by supporters for the vacancy.

SHANEG JONES: “My choice for the new manager is Nigel Clough.”

HOWIE SMITH: “I think Michael Flynn will quit Newport as he has been undermined by the board and now they have brought in Darren Kelly on a 3 year deal as sporting director. Might be worth a punt..

ROBBO: “Mr Clough, he has all experience and there’s a certain Fleur connection.”

DAVID DUFFEY: “Jim Gannon. A manager with the knack of getting the right players and balance and proven at National League level.”

NATHAN FULLER: “I honestly think Andy Morrison could do a job at Wrexham but I’m guessing they’ll want a bigger name.”

CRAIG JONES: “It’s a pity that Graham Alexander seems happy at Motherwell as I think he would have been perfect.

Derek Adams has done wonders at Morecambe too but I imagine he’d stay there now.”

ZACK HAZELDENE: “John Coleman or Dave Challinor, exciting times for the club and fans, we deserve this more than anyone.”

DEJA SONEN: “Chris or John Coleman.”

ANDY DAVIES: “Keith Hill, done a cracking job at Rochdale.”

CALEB PUMFORD: “Kevin Nolan or Michael Flynn.”

JASON: “Tony Pulis.”

PALE GINGER ONE: “Chris Coleman.”

MIKE LEWIS: “John Coleman for me.”

JOHN BENNETT: “Sparky for me.”

PAUL EDWARDS: “Chris Coleman.”

SAM TAYLOR: “John Coleman definitely.”

OZ: “Anyone who might guide us out of this hell hole. But I pray that we don’t get sentimental and hire an ex manager.”

Y CAERAS: “Graeme Jones.”

THEODORE BAGWELL: “Brian Flynn.”

JIM LEIGHTON: “Mark Hughes..... yes I said it. Mark Hughes!”

SEANY PRINCE: “Newport manager (Michael Flynn).”

DEZZLAAAA: “John Coleman without a doubt.”

MICHAEL DAVIES: “Eddie Howe!”

MARK EDWARDS: “Nigel Clough knows this league, he’s been there and done that.”

JACA: “Graham Alexander.”

THOMAS WYNNE LEWIS: “Mike Flynn or Chris Coleman.”

ROBERT WILLIAMS: “Dave Challinor.”

LIAM BRAISDELL: “Chris Coleman.”

RHYS N WILLIAMS: “Nigel Clough would be my first choice.”

JAMIE HEATH: “Dave Challinor or John Coleman for me.”

COLIN D: “Nathan Jones.”

KIRK WOOLLEY: “Ian Holloway.”

HONEZ: “Darren Ferguson for me. No chance, but I can dream.”

SEAN: “Who can we now attract ? Can we now attract well known names from Football League? My hunch is we will see an unknown who has been a successful coach elsewhere.”

MATTHEW SUTTON: “The club’s new profile, and the spotlight which will now be on it, means the new incumbent needs to have a bit of ego/personality. Maybe even a management duo who are used to working with decent budget, and have proven record in this league?”

WJONA DEVITT: “My managerial knowledge isn’t up to much but I’d like to see a modern coaching set-up, forward thinking and using analysis and data but also a good man manager as we’re going to have a lot of focus on us and perhaps bigger egos than we’ve experienced before."
