A WREXHAM photographer is aiming to bring the town's various communities and police closer together via an exhibition.

The Leader reported in June 2020 how 28-year-old Carwyn Jones, of Rhosddu, documented lockdown by taking photos and videos for his project "Cymuned / Community."

Mr Jones has been undertaking a new project entitled 'Cultures - Wrexham's communities,' which is to be displayed at Wrexham Museum in the near future.

He explained: "I decided to work with North Wales Police and I explained I wanted to do a project about cultures in Wrexham.

"I made a questionnaire for the police and for the town's various communities asking things ranging from their feelings about the police to what the town needs.

"The point of the project was how North Wales Police and the communities can come together to get the best for Wrexham.

"Since it started it has gone from strength to strength and I have asked every community I could who had an interest.

"In the town we have Welsh, Portuguese, Polish, Thai, Indian, Turkish and Kurdish and more communities.

"The exhibition is going to feature portraits of the people who I have asked questions of and their answers.

"I really wanted everyone to have their opportunity to voice their opinion."

Mr Jones said the exhibition is expected to be displayed in the courtyard of Wrexham Museum in the near future - details of which will be published on the museum's social media accounts.

He added: "I'm really honoured to have my project there - my last one has been there as well so I am really happy.

"It's handy that it's going to be in the courtyard too, because if people are concerned about covid-19 they can go to see it at the stands there and they will be able to social distance."
