AIRBUS staff will be furloughed for a week in June, it has been confirmed.

In a bid to help with the production costs, the business will make use of the Government scheme to safeguard jobs at the Flintshire plant.

Since the pandemic started almost 1,000 jobs have been cut at the Broughton site as part of a national move by the aerospace giant.

An Airbus spokesman said: “Airbus continuously reviews optimal production levels and adapts its working arrangements accordingly.

“This latest decision to implement a period of furlough in week 23 (7-11 June) for Production and Production support teams is a continuation of that work and represents effective resource planning.”
