WREXHAM residents have been urged to take precautions following an attempted burglary.

Inspector Luke Hughes said the incident happened overnight between April 5 and 6.

He said: "A property under renovation on Victoria Road has had an attempt to gain entry via rear door, small window was damaged but offenders have been unable to open from within, therefore nothing stolen at this time.

"Burglary offences of both dwellings and sheds/garages are very rare locally at present but we do usually see a season spike during the spring and into summer as people purchase new gardening equipment or begin to leave windows open.

"I would urge all local residents to take sensible precautions and try to mark your garden tools, including mowers with postcodes or address to aid recovery if stolen."

Anyone who has information about the incident can call police on 101 with reference 21000218437.
