I have worked in journalism for more than 20 years, most of that as a sub editor in North Wales.

A few weeks into the pandemic and working from home, I found myself in a new role at the Leader - community content editor.

It has been the embodiment of being thrown in at the deep end.

My name, face and email are everywhere, or at least it feels that way.

I went from a behind the scenes position, to one that is incredibly public. But it's been worth it.

So just what is a community content editor?

In many ways it's quite a traditional role, and does what it says on the tin. I am all about being a link between your news and the reader, from babies and pets to nostalgia and charity champions.

Of course coronavirus has made some aspects difficult. I look after our Trader of the Week and Pub of the Week features, both of which have been hit by lockdowns and restrictions.

Our weddings feature came to a halt as the industry became one of the hardest hit by the pandemic.

The weekly School Report pages have been one of my favourites, and are making a much welcome return after having to be put aside as schools went back to remote learning.

I look after two of the Leader's Facebook groups - Local Bygones and Camera Club.

Local Bygones is where the Leader and group members will share memories and photos of the past from across Wrexham and Flintshire.

Often it only takes one photo to spark an entire feature, and the knowledge shared never ceases to amaze me. It's an absolute pleasure to oversee this group.

The Leader Camera Club group is one I'm particularly proud of.

Some members are professional photographers, others are amateurs but all are supportive and friendly.

If you want to share photos or just enjoy looking at them, it's a great group to be a part of.

It's where I find the images for our daily Camera Club page in the Leader, and regular themed online galleries.

I am also behind the surprisingly brilliant celebrity selfies feature, and Me & My Motor, both of which are such good fun.

I also offer the chance for people to pay tribute to lost loved ones. Our obituary articles have allowed families to share with others just what the person in their life meant to them.

It's been interesting, and no two days are the same. I've spoken with some amazing, inspiring and truly wonderful people.

So if you have anything you would like to share with me, I'd love to hear from you. Let's start your story.

If I can help, I will. If I can't, I will try my best to find you the right person that can.
