A DEESIDE business has donated hundreds of ready meals to support struggling families across the area.

KK Fine Foods is a food manufacturer based in Deeside that supplies the foodservice and retail sector. Staff at the business have recently donated 500 ready meals to local food charity, Deeside Round Table.

Ex-colleague, Lesley Povey, contacted KK to discuss what the company could do to support local charities.

Deeside Round Table is currently organising Lunchtime Care Packs to deliver in and around the local area.

Lesley told the Leader: "Our guys from Deeside Round Table along with Mold and Buckley Round Table and Deeside Ladies Circle are all giving up their Saturday to ensure 71 households with a total of 165 vulnerable children are provided with a meal and snacks, much the same as they would receive in school time, to keep them focused throughout their home learning experience.

"We're really proud of this support campaign. The donations coming in from local businesses and individuals proves to us all that Deeside is operating on a higher level of awesomeness and setting new standards along the way."

A spokesman confirmed that KK Fine Foods is 'incredibly proud to support this fantastic campaign' which is helping so many local families.

They added a 'big thank you' to the team who worked hard to ensure the food was ready and they want to 'help generate more support' for the Round Table.

Deeside Round Table have been helping struggling families with food donations throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
