AN OPERATION aiming to tackle domestic violence has been launched.

The Leader reported recently how the Flintshire North Police team was preparing to start Operation Blue Silver Birch.

The initiative, which began on Monday, aims to safeguard victims of domestic violence.

Flintshire North Inspector Stephen Roberts has urged victims, or anyone who has information about incidents, to speak to North Wales Police.

He said: "We will be working proactively to support repeat victims of domestic violence.

"We will be engaging with them at all levels to make sure they feel supported and will do all we can to reduce their risk of harm."

Flintshire North Support Sergeant Matt Subacchi told the Leader previously that the operation involves officers identifying priority addresses and patrolling hot spots where repeat incidents happen.

Anyone who is a victim of domestic violence or is aware of incidents can call police on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
