As we approach Mother's Day (March 14), the Leader has been asking readers to share what their mum or much loved woman in their life, means to them.

We want to celebrate the positive difference these amazing women make, with tributes from those who love them the most, with two lucky ladies - picked at random - to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Is your mum your hero, the baking queen or someone who puts everyone else first? Or maybe there's a mother figure in your life that means the world to you.

To share with us why your mum is special, fill in our simple Q&A at the end of this article or email claire.pierce@newsquest.co.uk by Monday, March 8.

Don't forget your name, your mum's name, where you are both from and tell us why they mean the world to you. Please include a photo if you can.

Today we meet just some of the wonderful women you've told us about...

Karan Harry said: "My daughter, Emma Louise Jones, deserves to have a special treat because she is the best mum, daughter, sister, aunty, grandaughter and headteacher in Wrexham.

"Emma is a fabulous mum to Megan, 13 and Harry, eight, and has maintained a healthy balance of home schooling and wellbeing activity despite working full-time as a local primary school headteacher.

"She's an amazing daughter to me - finds time to support me in my role as full-time carer to Emma’s sister, Rachel. She takes me for my weekly shop as I struggle to drive following a car accident last year, makes sure I have regular respite and surprises me with little pamper gifts.

"The best sister to Rachel who struggles daily with the effects of a hypoxic brain injury as a result of a heart attack during her final stages of labour in 2012. Emma encourages Rachel to speak, walk and helps her to 'be a mum' in the best way she can.

"A brilliant aunty to Rachel’s daughter Freya, eight, as Emma has been a driving force in building Freya’s relationship with Rachel and makes sure Freya feels part of a wider loving family, lots of tough situations.

"She's a loving and helpful granddaughter - making sure her gran, grandma and grandad have regular catch-up calls and delivers them tasty tempting food every week.

"As well as all this, Emma is a full-time headteacher in a Wrexham primary school (St Paul’s, Isycoed and Borderbrook, Tallarn Green) and has provided outstanding support to her teaching team and pupils throughout the pandemic.

"I would love Emma to receive a special recognition for everything she does for others."

"My mum is a fantastic, kind and loving person. She is a brilliant listener and is always there if you need advice or a shoulder to lean on.

"She alway's puts others before herself, that is why I would love for her to be mentioned on this special day, as we would usually go out for lunch, but due to this strange time we find ourselves in. I love you so much Mum, you're the best."

The Leader: Debbie Corcoran and her mum Audrey Maher.Debbie Corcoran and her mum Audrey Maher.

Debbie Corcoran said about her mum, Audrey Maher: “ I think my Mum is really special and deserves the flowers because she has been through so much and always puts others first and is the most kind, selfless and caring person I know.
“Mum will be 75 on March 8. In October 2019 she was diagnosed with cancer and had to have half of her bowel removed. It was a very worrying time and fortunately she was given the all clear but her life had to change because she obviously had this major operation and it affected the way she would have to live in the future.
“On top of this she has been my dad’s carer for many years and whilst myself and my brother and our families help as much as we can, unfortunately during this period of lockdown, both her and dad had to shield, which meant mum got no help at all and it must have been really difficult for her not only recovering and getting stronger herself but having to look after dad.
“During the lockdown periods, dad was taken poorly four times and an ambulance had to be called and he was taken to hospital and kept in until he was better.
“This was so worrying for mum and I had her on the phone many times crying telling me how she could not live without dad if he didn’t come out. It was so quiet without him and she was lost.
“Mum never moans and does so much for all of us when she can. She is a rock and having been ill herself and not fully recovered when all this started it was so hard for her being dad’s sole carer, so I think she really deserves this because she certainly is my hero.
“I know every mum is special but my mum is one in a million and we all love her to the moon and back.”
