A LARGE quantity of class A drugs have been recovered following a raid in Wrexham, police have said.

The town's neighbourhood police team executed the drugs warrant in Elm Grove, Acton, on Monday.

A spokesman for the team said: "A large quantity of heroin and crack cocaine has been recovered.

"We will continue to target those that cause our community most harm to help keep you safe."

Inspector Luke Hughes said: "Sadly drugs such as this remain in our community and we will do what we can to minimise its availability and its effect locally.

"Whilst the amount recovered is not record breaking you have to understand the wider implications - drugs such as this cause misery to those addicted to it, with wider implications also affecting the family, friends and community at large.

"We always consider the welfare of those involved, but the bottom line is that it is illegal, it affects our community and the people of Wrexham expect us to take action against those supplying it."
