WREXHAM AFC issued an update on when more people can take advantage of their hugely popular gin collaboration with Hollywood co-owner Ryan Reynolds.

Since the club’s Hollywood takeover was confirmed earlier this month, a limited-edition release of Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin sees the classic bottle emblazoned with the official Wrexham AFC logo was announced to celebrate.

Aviation American Gin is distilled in Portland, Oregon, and crafted with a blend of botanicals, with subtle juniper notes, delivering a smooth balanced flavour profile.

The spokesman explained that the ‘exceptional’ demand resulted in the gin being taken off sale “as soon as we realised we couldn’t meet all requests without further delay”.

An earlier post from the club says that their initial batch of 690 bottles sold out within hours of going on sale.

The club confirms that, following an incredible response to the collaboration, all present orders have now been posted out for delivery.

In a post on the club website, a spokesman said: “Our retail staff and volunteers have wrapped, boxed and posted 535 bottles to locations all over the United Kingdom, and they should be arriving in the next couple of days.

“On behalf of the staff and the club, we would like to thank the Post Office staff at Garden Village for being so accommodating in helping us to send these orders out.”

The club adds that it will soon be starting a click and collect process.

They will be contacting people who made a purchase in date order to arrange their collection from the Club Shop.

It is requested that people do not just turn up at the club shop without arranging collection, as your order will not be ready, and the shop itself remains closed to customers due to COVID-19 guidelines.

They continued: “We would like to apologise that, due to unforeseen circumstances – partly caused by post-Brexit customs processing times, and despite Aviation Gin expediting delivery to meet the incredible demand – the club has not yet taken delivery of the full allocation of orders.

“As a result, some orders may be delayed until we take our next delivery, which we expect to be in approximately three weeks.

“We understand that this will be frustrating news to some supporters, and anyone who wishes to cancel their order should let us know.

“Again, we can only apologise for the delay due to circumstances beyond our control.”

The spokesman confirmed that, once the next delivery is received and all outstanding orders have been filled, a second batch of the limited-edition Wrexham AFC x Aviation Gin will be made available to pre-order.

It is advised that people keep an eye on the club’s official social media channels for more information.
