WREXHAM Council is finalising a plan to reduce carbon in the county based on feedback from residents.

Before Christmas, the council asked for views on its plans for becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030.

More than 500 people took the time to let the authority know what they thought.

The council now has had a chance to take a close look at these responses and is in the process of finalising the plan to further reduce the carbon created in order to make sure the authority makes the important 2030 deadline.

This will result in the Decarbonisation Action Plan that will set the scene for four priorities.

The council is inviting people to take part in an online workshop on February 22, between 6pm and 7.30pm, where there will also be an opportunity for questions and answers.

There’ll be individual sessions on our 4 key priorities: Buildings, Mobility and transport, Land use, and Procurement.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We need to ensure that our environment is protected and maintained now and into the future. Our Decarbonisation Plan is a very important tool that we will use to ensure we can help reduce the impact of Climate Change and I’d encourage as many people as possible to take part.
