FIREFIGHTERS advised that people avoid Wrexham town centre this morning as they worked to put out a chip shop on fire.
A spokesman for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a call was received just before 10.15am to the Market Street area of Wrexham.
Two crews from the Wrexham station are in attendance as of 11am.
Two further crews have been called to assist as of 11.45am, including an aerial ladder platform from Rhyl and a crew from Chester.
Eyewitnesses have shared pictures of the road currently taped off with smoke flowing out from the building near the town centre - believed to be the Everland chip shop.
The fire was put out shortly after midday at 12.10pm. Two teams from Wrexham remained at the scene afterwards for safety checks.
Nobody is believed to have been injured in the incident.
