Medical biographies & memoirs at Brynteg Library

There's a rapidly growing genre of new authors - everyday folk in everyday jobs - who recount heartfelt first-person accounts of their own lives. This is none more so than in the medical profession, doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics, ambulance drivers, they might be ordinary people, but they're all doing extraordinary jobs. Medical memoirs allow readers to embrace the realism of the profession. They allow us to take in the sorrow of a failing heart, or the joy of delivering a baby, and more importantly the moments in between. The result is a moving account of life - sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes challenging! Wales Children's Library

RBdigital UK have created a special account for children under the age of 10 called Wales Children's Library, to make it safer to access age-appropriate comics and magazines. Classical music

250 years ago the famous German composer and pianist, Ludwig van Beethoven was baptised. His first major orchestral work - The First Symphony - appeared in 1800 and his first set of string quartets were published the next year. To recognise Beethoven's contribution to music, Wrexham Library have a display of music themed books that you can add to your next Order and Collect list including Edward Dusinberre's Beethoven For A Later Age; The Complete Classical Music Guide; and D. Henley & S. Jackson's 50 Moments That Rocked The Classical Music World. They also have books on other composers including Mozart and Bach, plus pocket scores of some of Beethoven's music, including his Symphony No 1; String Quartet 16; and Fidelio available for you to loan. And for those just looking for some Christmas magic, what about Andrew Gant's Christmas Carols - from village green to Church Choir?

Pori Drwy Stori

Pori Drwy Stori is an exciting bilingual programme for nursery and reception aged children in Wales, aimed at supporting their literacy, numeracy, speaking and listening skills in the Foundation Phase. The programme provides resources to use in the classroom and at home encouraging parents to continue in their vital role as partners in their children's learning.
