This week sees an icon of TV celebrate 60 years on our screens.

The cobblestones of Coronation Street have been a constant for decades, with many of us remembering big storylines that caused a stir long before social media.

It is a show that reflects the time it's in, and doesn't shy away from serious issues but it has heart and great humour, and many of its actors have visited the region.

Last week we looked back at just some of these star visits, and readers have shared more of their Corrie fan moments and memories.

The Leader:

Steven Tattum (above), from Connah's Quay, met Sean Wilson (Martin Platt) at the Chester Food Festival 2018.

He said: "He was very pleasant. It was around the time he had made his brief on-screen return and I went to his cheese demonstration. He was very happy to stop afterwards and I had a lovely chat with him regarding cheese and Corrie. I have since then regularly bought his cheese from Morrisons. There's nothing nicer than his creamy Lancashire artisan cheese!"

The Leader:

Samantha Jones, from Flint, met Ian Puleston-Davies (Owen Armstrong) at Flint armoury, for a charity night.

She said: "He was friendly and came over thinking he knew me from somewhere. I was nervous and replied "I think I know you too". We giggled and talked more. He was lovely."

The Leader:

Dave Rodgers, from Flint, met Bruce Jones (Les Battersby) at a vape shop in Flint, when the actor was filming an advert for them.

On our Local Bygones Facebook page, Shawn Andrews said: "Remember Gail (actress Helen Worth) opening the new Yugo Dealers on Kings Mill Road and Eddie Yates (actor Geoffrey Hughes) at the Wrexham Lager Day."

Rachel Bosworth Roberts remembers meeting Barbara Knox (who played Rita) at the old Kirbys.

Paula Roberts said: "I remember meeting Alf Roberts (actor Bryan Mosley) from Corrie's corner shop at a Wrexham Lager Day when I was younger."

And Geoffrey Griffiths also met Bryan Mosley, along with his wife, at Marcher Sound.
