"MINDLESS" vandals have spray painted swastikas on cars and on properties in Wrexham.

Several cars and a couple of properties have had the "awful" symbols spray-painted on them in the Ponciau area.

Councillor for Ponciau, Paul Pemberton, described the vandalism as "mindless" and that it could cause "hurt to so many people".

He told the Leader: "It's a mindless act, people have enough on their plates at this time without this sort of thing happening.

"There are reports of some having CCTV, and I just hope this helps to catch the culprit or culprits."

A North Wales Police (NWP) spokesperson said: "Sadly overnight damage has been caused to a small number of cars in the area of Rhos, we have also had at least two properties who have had windows broken.

"At this time it appears to be random incidents of damage, the graffiti being offensive in nature but not specifically targeted.

"Should anyone have any information please contact us via 101 or the chat facility on the NWP website quoting Y170377.

"Incidents such as this cause great upset in small rural communities, the damage being mindless and causing distress at what is already a very difficult time for all."
