SCAMMERS had targeted an elderly person's home in Wrexham after pretending to be from the Water Board.
Officers from the Wrexham Rural policing team confirmed that around 1pm on Tuesday, October 27, a property in the Southsea area was entered when the elderly occupant was distracted by individuals purporting to be from the Water Board.
But thankfully the offenders were disturbed and made off and police are warning for vigilance.
A spokesman said:"Did you see anything suspicious at or around this time?
"Also we are having a number of reports of suspicious individuals asking to purchase vehicles or do small jobs in gardens etc.
"Please never entertain cold callers. Now more than ever we need to look out for each other and please report all incidents of suspicious behaviour at the time you witness it.
"Together we can keep our community safe."
