A WREXHAM nursing home has raised funds in memory of a Llay teenager.
Chantelle Jones, a year nine pupil at Castell Alun High School, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 1.
Since the tragic and premature death, tributes have been pouring in, in memory of the teenager.
A Wrexham teenager decided to pull out all the stops to raise funds for the family.
On October 12, staff and residents at Plas Rhosnesni nursing home held an indoor fundraising event after hearing about Chantelle’s story which ‘touched all their hearts’.
A spokesman said: “we wanted to do something to show our support to the community.
“We all dressed in black and pink and had a cupcake stall, guess the number of sweets in the jar, a candy floss stall, raffle prizes, hairstyling and face glittering.
“Also a member of our team Billie, dressed as our very own drag queen which gave the residents a giggle.
“The residents had a great day joining in and it was all for a good cause. All money we have raised will be added to Chantelle Jones fund raising page.”
