A RANGE of sports activities for children are to take place in Flintshire.
Aura’s sport development team will be delivering free, fun and engaging sessions at various locations across Mold and Mynydd Isa.
Beth Conway, school and community sport coordinator for Aura Wales, said: “All sessions are free and have been planned so that they are covid-safe.
"We will take details for track and trace purposes on arrival, and hand sanitiser will be available for everyone to use. Equipment will also be cleaned regularly.
"Football and dodgeball will be available at each session, and there will be a variety of other options as well.
"There is no need to book, and all abilities are welcome. We hope to see you soon.”
The sessions have already begun and will be ongoing until further notice, but will only run during term-time.
In Mold the activities will include a High School Multisport session at Mold Astroturf on a Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 5pm (for 11+) as well as Girls Only Sports Club at Mold Astroturf on a Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm (for 11+).
Mold's activities also include Community Sports Hub sessions at Maes Bodlonfa Fields on a Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm (12+) and a Mold Sports Club session at Maes Bodlonfa Fields on a Saturday from 10:30am to 12pm for children aged 9 to 11 (limited spaces).
In Mynydd Isa there will be a High School Multisport session at the Argoed 3G Pitch on a Wednesday between 3pm and 5pm (Years 7, 8 and 11), a High School Multisport session at Argoed 3G Pitch on a Friday between 3pm and 5pm (Years 9 and 10) and a Community Sports Hub at Argoed 3G Pitch on a Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm (12+).
Matt Hayes, sports development manager, said: “We are glad to provide these sessions that will focus not only on physical development, but on emotional and social development also which we feel to be equally important.
"We encourage all parents and carers to bring children along to these sessions, or to seek out opportunities for their children that encourage physical activity and interaction.’’
