Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds has tonight spoken out after he was revealed to be one of two shock investors looking to buy Wrexham AFC.

The Reds announced on Wednesday evening that Reynolds - famed for his role as superhero character Deadpool - and fellow movie star Rob McElhenney are in talks to invest in the National League club.

Soon after the news broke, the Canadian actor took to Twitter to respond to the news, when replying to a tweet posted eight years ago.

Responding to a Twitter user who said: "tidyy ;) you never know when Ryan Reynolds is going to turn up in Wrexham ;)", Reynolds wrote: "Yep, you never know."

And 20 minutes later, he followed it up with: "I've waited 8 years to respond to this tweet."

Both tweets have been liked 30,000 times.

Following a special meeting yesterday, the Wrexham Supporters Trust voted to allow sale talks to go ahead with "two extremely well-known individuals of high net worth".
