AN INQUEST into the death of a former miner from Wrexham.
George Dennis Jones, 90, of Stansty House Care Home in Wrexham, died on May 16 at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Opening an inquest into Mr Jones' death at a brief hearing in Ruthin, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said he had been admitted to hospital with non-serious injuries.
However, the inquest heard that Mr Jones did have some lung disease in the form of lung fibrosis and indications from the reporting doctor are that this may be linked with his past job as a miner.
A post mortem was undertaken and samples have been taken for further tests with the cause of death being deferred to a full inquest which will be held at a date to be fixed.
