A MOLD woman is in critical condition in hospital and a police investigation has been launched.

North Wales Police officers were seen in the Broncoed Park area in Mold over the weekend along with forensics officers.

A spokesman for North Wales Police confirmed on July 17 a woman was admitted to hospital where she is now in a critical condition and officers are investigating the circumstances leading to her admittance.

They said "On 17th July 2020, a 48-year-old woman from Mold was admitted to Wrexham Maelor Hospital where her condition subsequently deteriorated, and she is now in a critical condition.

"We are investigating the circumstances leading up to her admittance, and are aware of a previous allegation of assault which is believed to have taken place between 2nd and 8th July 2020.

"On Saturday 18th July, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of S18 Assault, and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries."
