PARENTS in Mold are being encouraged to consider recycling unwanted items of school uniform.

Town mayor cllr Teresa Carberry has launched the appeal for Mold school uniforms, along with unused rucksacks.

She said: “As we approach the end of another academic year, different as it has been, we hear today that all students will be returning to state schools in September. This is great news for everyone.

"With this in mind, I am asking people to consider recycling their children’s uniforms, allowing me to wash, iron and size their contributions for redistribution and reuse.

"All good quality items will be gratefully received.

"A collection box has been placed in the entrance hall of the Daniel Owen Centre for people to drop off items.

"The Daniel Owen Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

"I would like to thank, in advance, everyone who feels able to help me with this environmental project and pass on my thanks to Cllr Karen Hodgkinson at the Daniel Owen Community Centre for her support.”

In August, at a date to be confirmed, the school uniform and rucksacks which have been donated will be available, free of charge, to anyone who needs them.
