THE man who was found dead inside a vehicle in Wrexham earlier this month has been named.
John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales (east and central) opened an inquest into the death of Stephen Kenneth Lloyd of Pont-Yr-Afon in Penycae, Wrexham.
At Denbighshire County Hall in Ruthin today, Mr Gittins said the 55-year-old painter and decorator’s death was reported to the coroner by North Wales Police after he was found in his vehicle on Ruthin Road in Wrexham on Tuesday, June 9.
He says officers were alerted to the fact Mr Lloyd was missing by his mother after contact between the pair had suddenly stopped.
Mr Gittins said he was later found at about 10pm in his vehicle after an “apparent act of self-harm”.
A post-mortem examination had been requested by the coroner and results of a toxicology test that were undertaken by a pathologist are pending before a final report on the death can be produced.
Mr Lloyd’s full inquest hearing was adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.
