THIEVES who tried to steal an electric cable from a Flintshire substation caused an "explosion", police have said.
North Wales Police's Community Safety East team said the incident occurred at a substation on Saltney Ferry Road in Saltney Ferry last Thursday at about 10pm.
The team said the attempted theft "caused an explosion, blew the power and probably injured the thief".
It has warned other would be thieves that this type of theft is "very dangerous".
