Residents have welcomed new 'occupants' in a bid to spread some joy during the pandemic.

Adhering to the social distancing advice, scarecrows have been popping up around Overton on Dee to cheer people up whilst on their daily exercise.

Jude Moulsdale said the Scarecrow Festival is running throughout the month of May within the community and is encouraging residents to get involved.

He said: “We set up a scarecrow festival in the local village at the weekend and didn’t quite expect such a great response- in just four days we’ve had so many pop up. We decided to organise it as we wanted to bring people together during the Covid lockdown and period of isolation and social distancing but at the same time give people a giggle during their daily exercise or trip to the local shops and pharmacy.”
