OVER a dozen new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Flintshire and Wrexham, according to the latest public health data.

Figures released by Public Health Wales reveal that as of April 28, there were 15 new confirmed cases across the two counties.

These include ten new cases in Wrexham - taking the total of confirmed cases in the county borough to 229, and five in Flintshire, taking its total to 219 confirmed cases.

Regionally, the latest figures show there were 44 new cases confirmed across North Wales covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board taking the overall total up to 1,168.

There have been two new suspected COVID-related deaths in North Wales, bringing the total for the Betsi Health Board to 100.

To date, the total number of people in Wales who have died after testing positive for coronavirus stands at 813.

So far, 34,448 tests have been carried out in Wales.
