SPENDING time in lockdown is helping a six-year-old Wrexham girl to plan her future career.
Verity Carruthers has decided she wants to be a guide dog trainer when she grows up.
She is researching all aspects of the Guide Dogs charity for a project set by her school, Ysgol Bryn Tabor in Coedpoeth.
Verity’s mother, Laurie, said: “Verity had a project of her choice to complete and she has decided she wants to do this on guide dogs.
"We’ve asked on social media if anyone would be willing to provide her with stories about them and their guide dogs, maybe by sharing a video, photos or just a message that can be included.”
And guide dog owners, fundraisers and trainers have already offered to share their stories.
These include Verity’s father, John, who qualified as the owner of guide dog Gryffin in May last year after a month of intensive training together.
Meanwhile, Verity is spending some of her pocket money by sponsoring guide dog puppy Rosie, a black Labrador, and receiving regular updates on the puppy’s progress.
